By the Tide Watercolor Card

Hi Stampers!

It's summertime, so how about a beachy card?  Today I have a card for you made with the By the Tide stamp set.  This set is really great for making all kinds of cards.  I made a background paper by inking an acrylic block with three different ink pads. Then I spritz it with some water and stamped the block on some watercolor paper.  It made a cool watery looking background.  Then I stamped and embossed the images in gold.

I layered the stamped image over a scrap of the burlap ribbon that was sitting on my desk. I frayed the ends a bit for some added texture.

I hope you liked my beach inspired card.  Where is your favorite beach?  Let me know in the comments!

A card that's Naughty and Nice!

Hi Stampers!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I spent my Saturday on a tube floating down the Delaware River with my hubby and some close friends.  We had such a good time!  Then we were off for dinner in New Hope, PA.  I order garlic-truffle potatoes with my sandwich.  I love, love love truffle oil.  So yummy!

Well, enough about what I ate!  Today I have the first of many Christmas cards that will be posted over the next few months.  I made this card with the new Christmas Bliss photopolymer stamp set that is available right now from Stampin' Up!  It has a lot of fun sentiments and images to make fun cards, gift tags, gift card holders, etc.  Lots of uses for your holiday projects!

I stamped the stars in Encore Silver.  After they were dry I cut them out with the Star Framelits.

The sentiment was stamped in Real Red ink.  I then punched it with a 1.75" circle punch.  That was matted on a Real Red circle I cut with the Circles Framelits and then all of it was layered onto a punched scalloped circle.  To make it even cuter, I added little polka dots with a white gel pen.  It's all attached with Dimensionals over a piece of Mossy Meadow ribbon.

Of course, I decorated the interior of the card as well. This stamp set has a lot of sentiments for BOTH the exterior and interior of your cards!  I love that.  Then I added a few red stars just to keep the theme going on the inside.

Here are all of the supplies used to create this card!  If you would like to come an stamp a card like this with me,  email me

Freshly Made Sketches 125

Hi Stampers!

Today I have a card for this weeks challenge over on the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

Here's this week's sketch.  It is pretty basic so I had to think outside of the box to decide on how I was going to embellish on it.

First I decided on which Designer Series Paper I wanted to use, and from that I chose my color combo. I went with something bright and cheery - the Quatrefancy DSP!

I thought that a little bit of Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo would be nice on a day we are expecting more STUPID SNOW!

To make the flower, I stamped the image from the Simple Stems stamp set three times - once in Island Indigo, once in Melon Mambo, and one final time in Daffodil Delight.  Then I cut out the different layers of flowers.  I used my two-way glue pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds around each flower edge for extra sparkle.  I layered them with Dimensionals and added a Basic Rhinestone to the center.  The final step was to stamp the sentiment from the Gifts of Kindness stamp set in Melon Mambo.
